Privacy Policy & Terms of use — Halloween 3D

Last updated: September 25, 2026

Halloween 3D is a game by Julien Meyer (jmApp), available on Steam (Windows) and on the Mac App Store. This page explains what data the game handles, what it sends to the game server halloween.jmapp.com, what other people can see, and the rules for using the online features. Julien Meyer is the data controller. Contact: jadeware@gmail.com.

In short

1. Data stored on your computer

The game keeps its settings (including the player name you choose), save slots, world edits, a copy of the contributions you sent, and a random identifier in its own data folder (.halloween in your user folder or application data folder). None of this leaves your computer, except as described in sections 2 and 3. Uninstalling the game and deleting this folder removes it.

2. Online games and the online mansion

When you host or join an online game, or enter the online mansion, the game sends to halloween.jmapp.com:

The server necessarily sees your IP address. In a regular online game, players connect directly to each other, so the server gives each player the IP address and port of the other players of that game: the players you play with can see your IP address. In the online mansion, traffic goes through the server.

What is kept: open games and players present are held in the server's memory only, and forgotten a few seconds after you leave. Chat messages are relayed to the other players and are not recorded. The server's technical logs record IP addresses and game codes (when a game is opened, joined or closed) and the player names entering or leaving the mansion; these logs are rotated automatically. Blocks built in the online mansion are saved without any player name or identifier.

Public: the lobby page at halloween.jmapp.com is public. It lists open games (with the host's player name and the number of players) and, for each room of the online mansion, the player names of the people inside.

3. Contributions (reports and fixes)

From inside the game you can send a report or a fix about a map. A contribution contains:

Contributions are stored on the game server (hosted in the European Union) so that I can review them and improve the maps. To prevent abuse, the server also keeps, per IP address, the times of the contributions sent in the last 24 hours (1 per minute and 40 per day at most).

When a contribution arrives, the server sends me a notification email through Brevo (an email service based in France). This email goes only to me; it contains the player name, message, map, position, game version and the screenshot, but not your IP address nor the random identifier.

Public: the contributions list on halloween.jmapp.com shows the date, type, map, player name, message and status of each contribution, with a link to its screenshot. The contribution file, which can be downloaded from that page, also contains the random identifier.

Contributions are kept as long as they are useful for the game. You can ask me at any time to delete yours (see section 6).

4. What the game does not do

5. Legal basis

Data is processed because it is needed to provide the online features you choose to use (online games, online mansion, contributions), and for my legitimate interest in improving the game and preventing abuse. Using the online features is optional: the game can be played entirely offline.

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete the data concerning you (for example your contributions, or your name in them) by writing to jadeware@gmail.com. Tell me the player name you used and, if possible, the date of the contribution, so I can find it. I will answer within one month. If you live in the EU, you can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

7. Children

Halloween 3D is not intended for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect data from them. If you are a parent and your child has sent a contribution or used a name you want removed, contact me and I will delete it.

8. Security

The server keeps only what is described above, and the review tools are protected by a private key. Game traffic and contributions are not encrypted, so don't put anything private in your player name, chat or messages.

9. Terms of use of the online features

10. Changes

I may update this page when the game changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
